The national union of sailors have announced they will go on strike on May 1st starting at 00:01 and for 24 hrs.
All Greek ferries sailing from Athens to the islands will most probably not depart. Exceptions may pose some ferries scheduled or re-scheduled very close to the start or the end of the strike period (00:01 to 23:59).
Ferries returning to Athens from the islands will almost always run the final return trip even during the strike period. Passengers are advised to check with the local port authorities for up-to-date info.
Greece – Italy ferries are usually not affected by the strike but, again, passengers are advised to check with local port authorities in order to obtain up-to-date info.
Passengers whose crossing is cancelled due to the strike are entitled to a full refund of their tickets’ cost.
