Many unions as well as the national sailors union have announced a 24 hour strike for tomorrow 09/04/2014. All morning ferries have been cancelled and some of the afternoon ferries will depart late in the evening as they are re-scheduled very close to the end of the strike period (00:01 to 23:59).
Ferries returning to Athens from the islands will almost always run the final return trip even during the strike period. Passengers are advised to check with the local port authorities for up-to-date info.
Greece – Italy ferries are usually not affected by the strike but, again, passengers are advised to check with local port authorities in order to obtain up-to-date info.
Public Transportation within Athens
The suburban railway from the airport will also be on a 24 hour strike tomorrow.
All buses within the city and from the airport will operate from 09:00am until 21:00pm.
The metro, city railway (green line), trolley buses, trams and taxis will be operating as usual.
