The Pan-Hellenic Seamen’s Federation (PNO) just announced a four day ferry strike starting from tomorrow Friday May 6th at 06:00 until Tuesday May 10th at 06:00 and therefor there will be no ferries to the Greek Islands until Tuesday.
The information we have, up to now, from the shipping companies is as follows:
- All ferries starting from the Athens ports of Piraeus, Rafina and Lavrio will be cancelled.
- Most of the intra island connections will run normally at least tomorrow May 6th but there will most probably be time changes.
- Shipping companies are suggesting that all travelers contact their local port agents at their port of departure for the latest information.
We suggest that all those traveling from Athens to the islands examine alternative travel plans. All those traveling between the islands or back to Athens ports contact the local port agent of the shipping company they travel with.
The list of all port agents per ferry operator can be found via www.gtp.gr (direct link)
We will keep you updated with the latest info as we receive it.
