No Ferries in Greece for 48-hours starting Friday 6 am
After the ferry strike announced a few days ago for December 8, a new 48-hour ferry Strike announced today by the Pan-Hellenic Seamen’ s Federation (PNO). The strike will affect all ship categories and will start Friday, December 2 at 6 am and end Sunday, December 4 at 6 am.
The Greek seamen are mainly protesting against the expected changes to their special tax regime. This regime is apparently under discussion between Athens and its creditors.
Federation’ s officials said that if this changes occur then “the seamen industry will be driven to extinction.”
According to PNO the strikes announced are only the beginning of their actions.
