The members of the Pan-Hellenic Seamen’ s Federation (PNO) had a meeting earlier today and announced the extension of the ferry strike. No ferries in Greece for another 48-hours until Sunday.
The strike which was due to end tomorrow Friday, December 9th, at 06:00 will now continue until Sunday, December 11th at 6am.
Seamen are concerned over rumors for planned changes to a their special tax regime. Their actions continue, even though Panayiotis Kouroublis, the shipping Minister, has assured seamen that the government is not planning tax hikes.
The problems for islanders and businesses are increasing day by day. The strike needs to end.
