Shipping company Dodekanisos Seaways has announced pilot implementation of the virtual ticket starting September 15th, 2021.
Until December 31st, e-tickets will only be issued at the shipping company’s offices in order to identify potential problems that may arise.
Starting January 1st, 2022, Dodekanisos Seaways e-tickets will be available from all travel agencies. For passengers that prefer a printed ticket, the service fee charged will be at the discretion of each travel agency.
Since the start of the Covid 19 pandemic, it has been a challenge to have contactless transactions for the safety of passengers and employees.
Seajets was the first shipping company to implement the virtual ticket through online check-in. Most major shipping companies followed suit.

Seajets, Golden Star Ferries, Blue Star ferries, Hellenic Seaways, Aegean Speed Lines, Minoan Lines, Fast ferries (only printed e-tickets), Alpha Lines and soon Dodekanisos Seaways.
