Ferries sailing from Athens to the islands are expected NOT to run for 24 hours as the sailors’ unions have decided to go on strike.
All ferries sailing from Athens will most probably not depart. Exceptions may pose some ferries scheduled or re-scheduled very close to the start or the end of the strike period (06:00 to 06:00).
Ferries returning to Athens will almost always run the final return trip even during the strike period. Passengers are advised to check with the local port authorities for up-to-date info.
Passengers whose crossing is cancelled due to the strike are entitled to a full refund of their tickets’ cost.
